On Vacation

Did you miss me?!!  I was on vacation with my family!
I missed blogging, doing client shoots, and my pillow.
While I am glad to be back and will miss Hawaii, I wanted to share a few photos from my trip.  Enjoy!

See My Muscles

Last year’s shoot with the C Family was on wheels!  This year, we were on foot, even with Tyler’s hurt ankle.
Today’s lifestyle family shoot was filled with brilliant color, wonderful morning light, and boundless playfulness.

A Wonderful Day

What a wonderful day!
It was not only my first client shoot after taking some time off to nurse my back, but also, I got to see one of my favorite families!
I’ve watched these little ones — Mateo and Anea — grow up through the years, so seeing them warms my heart!

Forest Fab Senior Portraits: Kristina

I had such a great afternoon with Kristina, who will be graduating from High School in 2 weeks!  Woot woot!
Kristina is an artist and a musician — though she is too humble and sweet to admit her talents.
[Photography Tip: A Senior Shoot should be one that shows off the Senior and her (or [...]

Animal Park

Oh, how I love seeing my clients through different times of their lives!  My first photoshoot of the C. Family was back in Spring ‘09 and they were only a family of 3!  Then I had the privilege of shooting newborn baby Evan with his family in Fall ‘09!
That was a long time ago, but [...]

Flowers For Mommy

I ran around one of San Francisco’s most famous parks with The S. Family this morning.  Here is their sneak peek….

But Kai wanted one for himself first.  It was really cute!

Now these were carefully picked for mommy!

My Bumble Bee

When I was a child, I had an aversion to bees.
When I became an adult, I just didn’t care for them.
When I became a mom, I avoided them to protect my babies.
But there’s something about Ava that makes me want to dress her in yellow.  I think because she’s sweet like honey and makes me [...]

Little Pineapple Bun

There aren’t many baby photoshoots that are truly lifestyle photography.  This one was!  The C. Family went about their afternoon and I followed them around.  It was so much fun.
There were so many fun and interesting shots that my “sneak peek” is more like a “long gander”.  So enjoy the Long Gander folks!
Mystery [...]

Bear Territory

During my drive this morning, I kept chanting:

You know it.
You know the story.
You tell the whole d*** World
This is BEAR TERRITORY!
.
Tom and Erika met at Cal many moons ago.  And this weekend, they made a trip back to the Bay Area for a walk down memory lane with moi — another Cal alum — to [...]

To Make an Omelet

When I worked in the Corporate World, one of my managers had this saying, which applies to my shoot this morning…
You have to break some eggs when you make an omelet!
He used to say that when things got tough or when he bent the rules, and great work resulted from it.
In my case today, we [...]

Ring Pops & Dandelions

This family is very dear to my heart.  I have known the mom, Anna, since our days at Cal, which was *ehem* quite a few years ago.  Since then, she has been more like a sister to me than a friend.
Here is a sneak peek of this drizzly day in the woods…

San Francisco E-Session: Ivan & Irene [Hillside]

Alas!  The 3rd and last location of Ivan and Irene’s deluxe engagement session:  a San Franciscan Hillside!
As you can see, this part of the shoot was entirely different than [Vintage] and [Garden] — from the photography style and casual mood to the lighting.  Which part of their e-session is your favorite?
At the hillside, the [...]

San Francisco E-Session: Ivan & Irene [Garden]

Here is Part 2 of Ivan & Irene’s engagement session in San Francisco:  In the Garden.  [Click here to see Vintage.]

San Francisco E-Session: Ivan & Irene [Vintage]

I just can’t wait any longer!  I haven’t finished going through yesterday’s engagement session images yet, but I am bursting to share them!
So here is part 1:  The Vintage Session.  This was a styled shoot, not my usual lifestyle shoot.  (Our e-session was more like 3 mini sessions because there were 3 locations.  And they [...]

Be Happy

I know this may sound like a lot of hot air, but I truly feel happy when I see former clients!
When I saw Maddie yesterday afternoon, I was so excited to see how much she had grown since her last shoot in November.  It had only been 6 months, but for kids under 3, that [...]
