After taking photos of my 3 monkeys in their jammies on New Year’s Day (that’s my new family tradition), I decided to shoot a couple minutes for fun. I say “for fun” because trying to get a shot of all 3 of my kids in the same frame where I can see everyone’s faces — [...]

With Mia growing older, I am no longer limited to the kind of shoots where I’m chasing after her til I’m panting and my throat hurts from making all the funny voices to make her laugh! Heh heh.
So for this shoot, she wore a chi-pao (a traditional Chinese dress). Here’s the funny part…
I didn’t know [...]
On this Thanksgiving day, I think about all the things I am thankful for…
I am thankful for having four healthy and happy — and oftentimes LOUD and SILLY — children this Thanksgiving! (My stepdaughter, Kaitlyn, is here this week! YAAAAY!!!)
I am thankful for having a thriving business that I have 100% passion for, even when [...]
With so many large zoom lenses and powerful macro lenses out there, I thought I’d give examples of when shooting up close and personal can be a bad idea… just to shake things up a bit!
I’ll even take images from my recent trip to Washington as an example. They say it’s good to make fun [...]
I attended and photographed a very special event this past weekend. It was a birthday party of my very own little monkey who turned 4!
It was a challenge to come up with the perfect theme because Ian wasn’t in love with any particular activities or sports — unless doing things-you’re-not-supposed-to is an activity!
So [...]
Did you miss me?!! I was on vacation with my family!
I missed blogging, doing client shoots, and my pillow.
While I am glad to be back and will miss Hawaii, I wanted to share a few photos from my trip. Enjoy!

Back in grade school, I remember this saying: When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Something like that. I was only 10 years old, but I remember referring to it all the time. I know what you’re thinking…. those “lemons” probably weren’t too awful if I were that young, right?
Sure.
But that’s the lesson learned! [...]
March is the birth month of my two girls and also the middle of the rainy season, which means indoor birthday parties!
It started with a tea party for Mia and her best friends.
There was jewelry-making, manicures, and a whole lotta girlie fun!
Mia must have said, “Mommy! I feel so special!” about 5 times that day. [...]
I love capturing images of people, especially children, because they change so much, so quickly. Not only their physical features, but also their personalities, their interests, how they laugh, how they interact with each other, everything.
So to start this new year right, I took photos of my own little monkeys in their jammies… to capture [...]
On Christmas Day, Santa brought my 5 year old daughter a white Zhu Zhu Pet that she named Miss White. (The name wasn’t very inventive, but hey — she’s five!) Melia was so happy that Santa “was watching” to know she had good behavior this year and that he read her October letter that stated [...]
Here are a couple I took this afternoon…
Happy Halloween from a Queen, a Lady Bug and a Monkey!
Behind-The-Scenes
This was taken about 30-seconds before the one above. I always find it interesting to see how shots were set up, so here is mine!
Now, is it wrong of me to find this shot pretty darn funny?!! =:D
Just bought little baby sneakers today. They have tiny hearts all over them — on the top, on the soles. It’s overkill, for sure! And I typically would avoid this kind of design like a vampire to garlic, but for my little Ava, I somehow LOVE dressing her in girlie pinks, heart designs, giant floral [...]
Being a parent can be quite a balancing act.
Since I had baby Ava in March, I started taking fewer clients. Instead of 2 to 3 photoshoots per week, I now comfortably take one client shoot per week, so I can dedicate enough time to each client as well as give enough attention to my own [...]
To celebrate little Ava’s 4 month birthday this week, I thought I’d have the first (and hopefully, the only) installment of “If I Could Talk”! (Courtesy of Delirium due to prolonged sleep-deprivation)
Whistling is soooo much harder than it looks!
This one smells the best. Oh wait, I mean tastes the best.
That clicking black box [...]
The first time I heard the Train hit, “Hey Soul Sister”, I thought of Myra. Even now that I know the song is a love story, the recurring words “soul sister” and the peppy beat that always makes me shake my hips undeniably makes me think of my soul twin.
It was recently Myra’s birthday, so [...]
